Fertility Treatment: The Success Rates of Arimidex

Male fertility problems are basically limited to two problems: low motility of sperm and low sperm counts. Both problems have successful treatment programs. One such treatment program for low sperm count is the administration of Arimidex.

Arimidex for Men

In the male, testosterone is normally converted to estrogen, a female hormone, through the synthesis of aromatase. Arimidex was originally conceived as a cancer treatment for post menopausal women. However, it was found to be a very efficient aromatase inhibitor, which means that those men who for whatever reason have too much testosterone being converted to estrogen, and are trying to conceive, can benefit greatly from a Arimidex treatment program.

Arimidex for Women

Women trying to conceive will also sometimes experience the problem of too much estrogen. Your doctor may prescribe Arimidex to limit the production/conversion of estrogen. Limiting estrogen in the female body causes the creation of FSH and LH hormones, both of which are necessary for normal egg production and ovulation, respectively.

Maximize Your Results

If you’re a man and have been prescribed Arimidex to assist with raising your sperm count, you should make sure that you follow your doctor’s instructions. Also, if you have a male fertility specialist in your area, you should see that doctor instead of a regular urologist, because fertility issues are quite different from regular urology issues. Make sure your specialist tests both sperm count and morphology. For women, you should also ensure that you follow your doctor’s directions exactly. In women, Arimidex may be prescribed in conjunction with follicle stimulating hormones and/or LH hormones which assist with egg production and ovulation control.

Arimidex therapy has proven to be between 60 and 80% effective in helping produce healthy pregnancies.
