The injections will be administered prior to the IVF procedure, before the eggs are extracted.
How the Injections Are Administered
When administering the IVF injections, you will need both the medication and solvent. Mix one part medication and one part solvent, making sure you get all the air bubbles out of the syringe prior to administering the shot. The injections should be administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. You may choose to administer the injections in your thigh, since this is a more accessible area for you. If your partner administers the shots, you can get these in the buttock or the hips. Numb the area with some rubbing alcohol or some numbing patches and introduce the needle under the skin or in the muscles, making sure to avoid any veins. After the shot is administered, the area should be rubbed to make sure the medication enters the body.
