Premature Ejaculation and Erectile Dysfunction Remedies: Conium

An erectile dysfunction is a leading cause of unsuccessful trials to conceive. The erectile dysfunction can be caused by a physical or an emotional problem. Most of the time, the problem can be treated with treatment, which may include medication or therapy. Conium is an herbal remedy that is also used in homeopathic medicine and can reduce erectile dysfunction in male patients.

Conium

Conium is a group of plants that produces flowers and belongs to the family of Apiaceae, which also includes the carrots, the celery or the parsley. The conium plant is highly toxic (the flowers, leaves and roots are all toxic).

The most well known conium plant is the conium maculatum, also known as the poison hemlock, which is most frequently used in homeopathy and alternative medicine.

Conium for Male Fertility

Conium can be used to increase male fertility and has been recommended for a number of problems:

  • Erectile dysfunction (i.e. weak erection)
  • Low libido
  • Stress, caused mainly by the erectile dysfunction or other factors
  • Lack of energy, which can lead to erectile dysfunction or decreased libido

The remedy is considered highly effective and consequently homeopaths often choose to use this plant, despite the fact that it may be poisonous.

However, the dilutions used in homeopathy contain only low percentages of conium, which will not be dangerous for the patient. In addition, conium may be mixed with various other ingredients (derived from animals, minerals or plants), which can also support male fertility.

During the first weeks of homeopathic treatment, the patient will receive low doses of conium extracts (taken from the flowers, leaves or roots of the plant), and the dose will be increased as the body gets used to the treatment. For safety reasons, the patient will have to check back with the homeopath on a weekly basis or even several times per week to make sure the dose is correct.

Other Uses of Conium

Conium, especially the poison hemlock has various other medical uses, despite its toxicity. The hemlock can be used as a tea and will have sedative effects.

The plant extracts may also be effective in reducing:

  • Spasms, as the flowers and leaves have antispasmodic properties
  • Arthritis, as the extracts reduce pain
  • Fever can controlled with a tea containing hemlock leaves

Conium Dosage and Safety

As mentioned earlier, conium is a plant that can be extremely poisonous for humans. When used to an erectile dysfunction, the compound will be carefully handled and prescribed in low doses, so that these won’t affect the system of the patient, but will be sufficient to reduce the erectile problems.

In the case of a poison hemlock overdose, symptoms will follow shortly and may include:

  • Confusion
  • Excessive drooling
  • Vomiting
  • Paralysis, which can affect parts of the body or the entire body
  • Incapacity to talk
  • Breathing problems, caused by the paralysis of the respiratory tract

An overdose of hemlock can be deadly.
