Treatment for Endometriosis: Xantoxilum Fraxineum

Endometriosis is a common condition that affects 10 percent of women in their reproductive years. It impacts women of all ethnic and social backgrounds. Nearly 176 million women all over the world are affected by this condition.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis occurs when bits of tissue of the endometrium or the inner lining of the uterus grow outside the uterus and become attached to organs such as the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, the vaginal bladder, the outer walls of the uterus, the rectum and the intestines. Such growths are known as endometrial implants, and are benign in nature. The cells of the implants also swell and thicken, break down and bleed. However, since they are not inside the uterus, the blood has no way of being expelled from the body; this gives rise to the formation of scar tissue and cysts that contain altered blood.

Women Prone to Endometriosis

Caucasian, tall, thin women with a low body mass index are more prone to this condition. Infertile women between 25 to 35 years of age may suffer from endometriosis.

Xantoxilum Fraxineum

Xantoxilum Fraxineum, commonly called Willdenow or Northern prickly ash, has been used for centuries as an alternative remedy to cure several diseases. It is a popular homeopathic remedy used to treat endometriosis in women, because the xanthoxylin contained in it stimulates the flow of blood in the pelvic area.

Preparations of Xantoxilum Fraxineum

An infusion of Xantoxilum Fraxineum can be prepared by boiling 2 teaspoons of bark in a cup of water. This should be steeped for 15 minutes before drinking. Such an infusion should be imbibed three times a day for a period of several months for maximum effect. Commercial preparations are also available. These should be imbibed as prescribed on the label.

Precautions

Xantoxilum Fraxineum should not be taken by pregnant or nursing women. Since it stimulates the digestive process, women with endometriosis who suffer from colitis, reflux or peptic ulcers should not take this herb.

Homeopathic medication can sometimes cure endometriosis and restore fertility when taken in conjunction with a nutritious diet that's low in animal fats and rich in fruits, vegetables and legumes.
