Is it possible that you can have twins with IUI?
Absolutely! Especially if you are using fertility medication (clomid, letrozole or injectable fertility drugs) in conjunction with IUI. Twins occur when you ovulate more than one egg and more than one...Details egg is fertilized and then the embryos implant in the uterus (fraternal twinning). Twins can also occur from one egg and one sperm forming an embryo that then splits and forms two embryos (this is identical twinning and is much more rare than fraternal twinning). So, if you took clomid, for example, and ovulated 4 eggs you run the risk of having quadruplets with your IUI cycle!
Please make sure you discuss with your doctor your chances of having twins or multiple pregnancies before you have your IUI.
