Ovulation Predictor

The one thing that every woman has a desire to know more about is her body, especially when she ovulates. With the assistance of an ovulation predictor you can help to know when your body ovulates, whether you're trying to have a baby or trying to avoid a pregnancy.

Ovulation

Ovulation is when an egg is released from your ovary and which also happens to the time when you are most fertile. Every month, an egg will mature inside your ovary, when it reaches a certain size, your body will release the egg so that it can swim down river to the fallopian tube. But this is not enough for you to be fruitful and multiply.

You have intercourse during this same time frame, sperm cells can live for 2-3 days, but your egg can only survive for 24 hours after you ovulate, unless that is fertilization occurs.

If you have intercourse as close to the time that you ovulate as possible, then, you will increase your changes of getting pregnant. By predicting your exact time of ovulation and by getting to know yourself through menstrual cycle hormonal and physical changes that occur in your body you will increase your changes of getting pregnant.

How to Predict When You Will Ovulate

Grab a calendar, figure out the day that your next period should begin, now count back 12 to 16 days. This will give you a window of days that you will more than likely be ovulating. If you have a 28-day cycle, the 14th day is normally the day that you will ovulate. In order to predict when you will ovulate, you must know how long that your cycle usually lasts.

The most accurate way to determine when you are the most fertile is by paying attention to your body and learning to spot the signs of ovulation that happen with every woman.

Signs of Ovulation

• Your cervical mucus will increase and the texture will change as your cycle progresses. When your mucus appears clear, slippery and stretchy - it looks like raw egg whites - then you are considered to be the most fertile.

• A rise in your basal body temperature will occur right after you ovulate, increasing by 0.4 to 1.0 degrees. The spike in your temperature is indicative of ovulation. You will be most fertile in the 2 to 3 days before your temperature hits its highest peak.

• And if you are like some women, you will actually be able to feel your body when it ovulates - you can experience a dull ache to spasms of pain in your lower abdomen that causes you discomfort.
