Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) in Trumbull, Connecticut (CT)
For more than 30 years, assisted reproductive technology has helped couples throughout the United State to build their families.
Also known as ART, assisted reproductive technology refers to any fertility treatment that requires both the eggs and sperm to be manipulated somehow. Often, eggs will be removed from your ovaries, or will be taken from the ovaries of a donor, and mixed with sperm in a laboratory. In some cases, hormones will be given to stimulate egg production. After the eggs have been fertilized, they are transferred into your uterus or fallopian tube, unless your purpose of this procedure is to donate them to another woman. In vitro fertilization is the most common ART method, but other options include gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT).
