About Intrauterine Insemination (iui)

The IUI or intrauterine insemination procedure is for women who are unable to become pregnant on their own. IUI is the most cost effective infertility treatment available.

During the procedure a very thin flexible catheter is threaded through the cervix. Once the catheter is in place, washed sperm is then injected into the uterus.

Intrauterine insemination only takes 2-3 minutes and is relatively painless. About two weeks after the procedure a pregnancy test is performed to confirm a pregnancy.
