Does embryo freezing increase the risk of birth defects?

Does freezing and then thawing the embryo negatively affect its viability? Could it cause health problems later on?

Hi and thanks for your question. We only freeze embryos that meet our strict freezing criteria. Once the embryo is thawed, the embryologist knows if it is a viable embryo before the transfer. There is no evidence that there are health problems later on.
