How does acupuncture help fertility?

I have learned about many fertility treatments including alternative methods, but I still don’t understand how acupuncture can help improve fertility.

What we know is that acupuncture increases endorphins, relaxes the patient (body, mind and spirit) and balances the body on many levels. In regards to fertility, acupuncture has been shown to:
-Improve ovarian function, which improves the quality of the eggs.
-Regulate hormones (decrease FSH to increase the number of follicles produced).
-Increase blood flow to the uterus and increase thickness/quality of the endometrium
-Relax the patient and help her manage the stress of fertility treatments and life
-Decrease uterine sensitivity, which decreases uterine contractions during the procedure (affects the ANS, relaxing smooth muscle)
-Lessen the side effects of fertility pharmaceuticals
-Strengthens and balances the immune system
-Improve semen quality and quantity?create more viable embryos
-Decrease chance of miscarriage
We don't know exactly how this happens because the research hasn't been done, and acupuncture doesn't really fit into Western scientific paradigms. But we do see clinical success everyday. Acupuncture works!
Chinese Medicine can address and in many cases resolve the following:
*Delayed/early/irregular menses
*Hormone imbalances-high FSH, low estrogen, low progesterone, etc..
*Amenorrhea
*Endometriosis
*Anovulatory cycles
*Uterine fibroids
*Heavy uterine bleeding
*Short luteal phase
*Repeated Miscarriages
*Infertility due to Auto-antibodies
*Inadequate cervical fluid
*Oligospermia (low sperm count)
*Sperm morphology abnormalities
*Unexplained infertility (male, female or both)
