How is zygote intrafallopian transfer different from IVF?

They sort of sound the same?

Zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT) is a more invasive procedure that traditional IVF. The preparation is the same, you need to remove the eggs from the ovary and fertilize the eggs in the laboratory for both procedures. With ZIFT, the fertilized eggs are then put back in the fallopian tube through a minor surgical procedure. The zygotes (fertilized eggs) must then travel to the uterus and implant. The procedure does require surgery and is not performed often since success rates with IVF are so high. In standard IVF, the fertilized eggs are allowed to mature in the laboratory longer than in ZIFT, and then theyare placed directly into the uterus during a procedure not requiring anesthesia. It is less invasive and more successful than ZIFT.

With IVF, the fertilization is happening in-vitro (in glass) and with ZIFT- the fertilization is happening in the fallopian tube-(eggs are retrieved and then eggs and sperm (Zygotes) are transferred into the tube.
