Is tubal reversal an option or would I need IVF?

I had my tubes cut and burned on 12/15/06 following twins. In July of 2011, I had an ectopic pregnancy. The doctor said he redid the original and burned the tubes by the ovaries as well. Is reversal an option? I'm scared of having twins again with Ivf.

It is a little hard to discern based on the history alone whether you are a candidate for tubal surgery. Would have to see an operative report. Additionally, it is a little disconcerting that you've already had one
ectopic which increases the incidence of recurrence greater than one who has never had one. Moreover, the twin pregnancy rate using IVF is fairly low; nationally about 30 percent and about 24 percent in our lab while transferring two embryos. If you are young and get good embryos, you could decrease the twin pregnancy rate by transferring one embryo.

I would need to see the operative reports from both procedures to be able to tell you if this may be reversible so, unfortunately, I cannot answer your question in this online forum.

I had the Hulka clips put on during a tubal ligation procedure when I was 24 years old. I am now 30 and my husband and I want another child. We are uncertain if my irregular periods are being caused by some of the Hulka clips coming off, or maybe the tube has grown around them. Is this likely and would either cause irregular periods? Also, would tubal reversal be a good option if we are considering having another child?
