Great question! Yes, in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be a better option given the number of incisions you've already had. Another benefit may be being able to do preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) in order to know about the genetics of the embryo before transfer. PGS is more accurate when the embryo biopsies are done at the blastocyst stage.

In our experience, when an embryo is biopsied at the blastocyst stage, the results are so accurate that we have been able to do mostly single embryo transfers and maintain very high pregnancy rates that have even exceeded the pregnancy rates when two embryos are transferred after day 3 embryo biopsies.

IVF with PGS is a great option if the biopsies are at the blastocyst stage because those treatments can end with a single embryo transfer more than 90% of the time. Achieving singleton pregnancies from IVF eliminates most of the risks of IVF.
