Age is a big factor in decreasing pregnancy rates. You may wish to be aggressive and do IVF. A complication of IVF is possible multiple pregnancies. It is wrong to try to achieve a multiple pregnancy on purpose because of the increased risk of pre term delivery and the higher risk of cerebral palsy and other problems in pre term babies. Nonetheless we do transfer more that one pre-embryo often enough to have our share of twin pregnancies.
If you have been trying to conceive for a while, you should begin testing and seek consultation with a Reproductive Endocrinologist that can review all the possibilities with you.

You and your partner need a complete evaluation by a reproductive endocrinologist to determine the underlying cause of your infertility. Generally however at age 43 IVF is the best route. There is a chance of twins with IVF, although at age 43 the chance is low.
