If I had clips placed 2 to 3 cm distal to the cornual end of each tube could I get pregnant? What if I had a reversal, could I get pregnant then?

Potentially. This location of clip application is generally in a good area for successful reanastomosis. Other factors to consider are how much normal healthy fallopian tube remains for reanastomosis, the woman's age (older women have less of a chance conceiving and a higher risk of miscarriage), her partner's semen parameters (should do a semen analysis), and whether the woman is ovulatory.

Yes, there is a very slight chance could get pregnant with the clips in place. However, it would most likely be an ectopic pregnancy (meaning in your tube). It sounds as if you would be a good reversal candidate with the type of ligation you had.

It sounds like you have a very reversible type of tubal sterilization. However, the only way to know for sure is to consult with a fertility specialist. He or she will need to examine your operative report, perform tests and do a physical examination.

You would be an excellent candidate for tubal reversal, and pregnancy would be very possible.

I had the Hulka clips put on during a tubal ligation procedure when I was 24 years old. I am now 30 and my husband and I want another child. We are uncertain if my irregular periods are being caused by some of the Hulka clips coming off, or maybe the tube has grown around them. Is this likely and would either cause irregular periods? Also, would tubal reversal be a good option if we are considering having another child?
