I would like to have twins using IVF or a similar fertility method. Would that be possible and is it very risky?

We typically don't go into IVF planning on obtaining twins. The multiple rate with IVF is around 25% though.

Your best option would be to have an appointment with a fertility specialist. They would be best to evluate your options.

Transferring two high quality embryos in an IVF cycle averages 30-40 % twin rate Twins have a pre-term delivery rate of 20%, some of these babies are very premature and may have complictions.

Yes it's possible . Very often 2 embryos are placed into the women's uterus making a twin possible in about 30% of the time. Twins are not without risk however. You should be counsel led about those risks before you start IVF

IVF does increase the risk of multiples; however this is difficult to control and multiple gestation pregnancies are at higher risk.
